“Malaria” is a Twist on Motion Comics

If you’ve ever watched a motion comic, you know that it’s similar to an animated film, but considerably shorter and running at, like, two or three frames per second. If you want an example, you can watch Joss Whedon’s “Asonishing X-Men: Gifted” on YouTube.

Edson Oda’s Malaria is a whole new twist on motion comics. He uses illustrated frames, paint, a balloon and a host of other cool things to tell the tale of a man sent to kill Death (or Morte, if you fancy yourself some Portugese).

The result is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Enjoy it below.

Thanks io9!
